Greetings!
Comedy by Tom Dudzick
Show Dates: November 3 -20, 2011 (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm)
"Greetings" is a heatwarming comedy. Phil and Emily Gorski are the parents of two sons, one of which has gone to New York to start a career, and one of which is mentally handicapped. Phil is deeply religious and patriotic, two qualities which are usually good. However, he has become deeply cynical in his old age. Emily Gorski is a bubbling mother figure full of Christmas cheer, as many mothers usually are. However, she too has her own deep secrets that she has kept from the family. Andy Gorski, one of the sons, brings home his Jewish atheist fiancé to meet his very Catholic parents on Christmas Eve.
With the inevitable family explosion comes an out-of-left-field miracle that propels the family into a wild exploration of love, personal truth and the nature of earthly reality. Mickey, the disabled son, is responsible for taking the play to dramatic heights. While he is mentally handicapped, he has the power to bring the family together and strengthen the family bond.
